Number of pieces:
10 copies of every puzzle
The activity is about making some polygons with the given pieces. The same pieces may form several polygons. This is known as dissection.
To improve the geometric comprehension. To gain understanding when adding or comparing angles and edges.
There is no need for specific preparation. The teacher must be familiar with the specific dissections in case they need to offer hints.
The teacher introduces the concept of dissection of a polygon.
- The students try to make the polygon that the teacher proposes making progress by trial and error.
- The students must be accurate when considering angles in the pieces of the puzzle.
- Take notes and draw the progress made in a notebook.
